24 weeks!

Well, its just about time for another update. I had a dr's appointment yesterday and while everything was fine and dandy with the baby, I, on the other hand, seem to be going a little overboard with the weight gain. After 5 months with only a couple of pounds on the + side, in month 6 it seemed to ALL catch up. Since my last appointment 5 weeks ago, I've packed on 10 pounds! I mean, I really don't understand how I could have gained that much... I'm practicaly eating like a bird... (as I stuff another oreo in my mouth)... ah well. Bob likes my buddah belly and thinks its amusing to poke at my almost-outie belly button. As far as the spousal sympathy weight, Bob is doing all he can to be as UNsympathetic as possible. He's been going to the gym every other day and looks great. He actually dragged me with him yesterday, and to be honest I felt pretty darn good afterward. At the rate I'm going, I'll probably hit the gym 2 or 3 more times before the baby comes.

As far as the baby goes, he's still really active and likes to poke around at random times. Right now he's about 12 inches long and weighs a little more than 1 pound. He can hear loud sounds now so I'll tell Bob to keep his snoring to a minimum because its disturbing the baby. I wonder if it'll work?

Thanks for checking in!

22 weeks

So I've hit the 22 week/5.5 month mark, and all I can say is that I am feeling bigger. I have found myself wondering how people with beer guts function comfortably, because I am certainly not maneuvering as I used to. Little things like getting out of bed, getting up off the couch, sitting with my kids at school on the rug, all seem to be getting more difficult with this round belly that I am sporting. And I still have another 18 weeks to grow!

We can tell already that our little guy is an active, strong one. I am now getting beat up from the inside on a regular basis. Some days he is more quiet than others, but for the most part he is bouncing around in there like there's no tomorrow. Bob likes to put his head on my belly and yell "Are you ready for some football?" so I think that might be winding him up a little bit. I usually amuse myself at night by watching my belly move around. I've also had a few sleepless nights so far because he decides that 2am is play time in my belly. We gotta get this kid on a schedule!

20 weeks

So this past week has been pretty active for our little one. He's jumping and moving and kicking me all day. I think that my tummy is starting to fill out and look rounder!
