Well, I can't believe that I'm typing this... my baby Brady is one year old! Its crazy to think how fast this year has gone by. Every day that passes we just seem to love him more and more (is that possible?!) and he never ceases to amaze us with new and exciting things.
In the last month, he has taken his first steps, transitioned exclusively to whole milk (no more yucky formula!), and is pretty much on people food. He loves pointing at things, naming them with his made up words, and even throwing in a few coherent ones here and there. He can point and identify many things around the house, parts of his body, and people. He loves walking and playing and throwing and just getting into everything possible.
We had the grandparents over for a cookout on his actual birthday; last Tuesday. Brady had fun in his new little car that Gramma Carol and Grampa Johnny brought over.
(Notice the long sleeve shirts.... this has been the COLDEST July ever!) We went inside for some ice cream cake, and Brady opted for using a spoon instead of his hands. What a neat little boy!
Then this past Sunday we had Brady's real birthday party with all the family and a couple friends. It was nice to get together with everyone, especially the out of towners... Aunt Gloria and Vinny from Florida, Uncle Cam and Aunt Claudia from Ohio, and Uncle Hank and Aunt Carol who were in from Texas! Brady had a blast. He was such a good boy and loved all the attention, especially when we sang Happy Birthday and all eyes were on him! The kid is such a ham. He had a grin plastered on his face from ear to ear for like 5 straight hours. He recieved such wonderful gifts from everyone... such cute outfits and great toys and beautiful books.... everyone was just so generous! Here are a few pics from the party:
